Here at FMMA we teach a blend of the world's most effective marial arts, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Submission Grappling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Eskrima.

Muay Thai, a martial art from the country of Thailand, utilizes all of the body's natural weapons to create a devestating fighting style. People train Thai Boxing because it is a competitive sport in the ring as well as being useful on the street. In Thai Boxing, hand techniques are similar to western boxing, adding strikes with the elbows, knees, and delivering low powerful kicks. Muay Thai fighters are world renown for their power, effectiveness, and stamina.

FMMA Muay Thai Kickboxing will provide you with the best workout you have ever experienced. Jumping rope and calisthenics are a part of every class. Practical offensive and defensive techniques are delivered on pads to provide complete resistance training. Nothing comes close as a complete stand up martial arts workout.

Submission grappling is the art of ground fighting. The concept is to be a well-rounded fighter and to be able to defend yourself whereever combat may take you. Most self-defense situations will end up on the ground, so being prepared is the goal.

The FMMA grappling program will give you the ability to defend yourself on the ground. You will learn to sense body positioning and will be able to control your opponent. Also, you will be taught to recognize submission holds, joint locks, chokes, escapes, and reversals.

Traditionally the art of grappling is done wearing a uniform or gi. Submission grappling is done without the gi, as it is a different strategy and requires individual training.

BJJ-Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Jiu jitsu BJJ
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu This program offers one of the most effective martial arts in the world. The emphasis is on grappling, and ground fighting with arm-bars, chokes, throws, leg locks, and takedowns. The student trains with a unifrom or gi. This provides for a more advanced grappling strategy and allows the student to be prepared for self-defense while being clothed with a jacket.

Here at FMMA we have an authentic Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt directly from Brazil teaching the classes. His name is Fernando Cabeca.

He began his training in 1987 is Salvador BA. Brazil. In 1990, he moved to Rio where he trained in many Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo schools. In 1997, Fernando came to the United States and taught at the Machado Academy under the tutelage of Rigan Machado. He was awarded his brown Belt in 1998 from Nilton Ferreira and HIs Black Belt in November of 2001. Fernando is both a Brazillian State and National Champion.
