MARCH 2010
We have a busy weekend ahead of us.  On Friday night we have the Kids BJJ evaluation from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.  On Saturday we have the Black Belt Fitness Check and Black Belt Class from 2:30 - 4:00 PM.  After that we are heading over to Weapons 9 Gym ini New Brunswick for the Warrior's Cup.  Another Great night of Thai Fights!!  Then Sunday morning we are heading to New York for the LI Pride BJJ Tournament.  Good luck Team and enjoy this weekend!!

February
We had Strength & Conditioning Coah Kevin Kearns out last week.  Everyone loved the workout and learned alot from Coach.  Pictures from the Seminar are up on the website!  If you missed the seminar and still want one of the fitpacks with the instructional DVD see Mr Fatjo or Maria.  We only have a few left!  
This Saturday, February 27th, we have our Beach Ball Dodge Ball event for the kids.  Registration forms can be picked up at the front desk. 
Cabeca is back!!  Make sure you continue training hard and get ready for the tournaments and BJJ Evaluation that are coming up in March!!

January 2010
Black Belt Fitness check is this Saturday, January 16th starting at 12:15PM.  
Next week is Buddy Week here at Fatjo's MMA.  We also have Black Belt Class on Saturday, January 23rd from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  This class is for all Black Belts and Candidates. 

December 2009
We are back from Brazil and training hard again.  Congratulations to Chris Fanelli for earning another stripe on his Purple Belt down there, and to Paul Hafner for earning his Purple Belt!!  Way to go Guys!!  You can see pidtures from the trip on the PICS PAGES of the website.   We have our Black Belt Fitness Check on Saturday, December 19th at 12:15 pm.  We also have our Annual Holiday Party for the kids on Saturday, December 19th.  The party will start at 4:00 pm and End at 7:00 pm.
Fatjo's MMA will be shutting down for the Holiday's on Thursday, December 24th.  Classes will resume on Monday, January 4th 2010!!

This Saturday, October 24th we have our Haloween party for the kids.  Come in Costume and be ready to have FUN!!
This week is Testing Week so be sure to adjust your training schedules accordingly.
The Team went 3 and 0 at the Warrior's Cup this weekend.  Anthony, Tom and Scott all won their fights!!
Congradulations Team!

Remember that  we will be closing this Weekend, October 1,2,3.  The closing is due to the EFC International Instructors Convention in Key Biscayne, Florida.  We will see everyone back here on the mats on Monday, October 5th.

September 2009
This month is Family Appreciation Month here at FMMA.  If you have a family member that wants to try our program now is the perfect time to help them get started.  Put them in touch with one or our team members and we will guide them towards the program that will best suit them.  
We will be shutting down this weekend due to Labor Day Weekend.  Classes will resume on Tuesday.  Remember that the kids Summer uniform is now coming to an end.  Begining on Tuesday all kids should be in their full uniforms again.  This includes the Gi top and matching Pants.


August 2009
This Month is off to a GREAT Start.  We  had Rich Earn his 1st Degree Black Belt.  We had Andrew and Chris earn their 2nd Degree Black Belts as well.  Way to get our August Started guys!!
This past weekend we had the Summer NJBJJF Tournament down in Bayville.  Our Team had another fantastic showing with the both the kids and adults winning the overall Team standings.  WAY TO GO TEAM!  Our very own Chris Swenson won the White belt Absolute Division and Bayvilles Jon Bilik won the Blue Belt Absolute Division.

We have our kids dodgeball tournament this Saturday, August 15th.  The fun will begin at 3:30pm.
Testing and the Annual School picnic at Holmdel park are next week.  Be sure to adjust your schedule to join in the fun!

The Summer is off to a GREAT START here at FMMA!  We have 2 new 1st Degree Black Belts and 1 new 2nd Degree Black Belt.  We just finished our annualkids Summer Boot Camp.  It was another Great week of fun and training.    Next week we have The East Coast IMB Instructors Conference.  It is a 3 day event beginning Friday night.  See the event board for details.  We have Sifu richard Bustillo and Kru Phil Nurse coming out for the same weekend!!  You can register for the seminar at the front desk.  We have Ice Cream day for he kids on Tuesday, July 21st.  
July 30th will be testing for the kids, and their Graduation will be held on Friday, July 31st.
Teen and Adult testing will also be held on Friday, July 31st.  
Teen and Adult Black Belt Testing is on Saturday, August 1st.  It will begin at 3:30 pm.  Good luck Rich, Chris and Andrew!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY EVERYONE!!
just a quick reminder that there is only a few days left for our Family appreication Month special.  Come in and talk to a team member to get started.
Testing is next week, so we will not have any kids classes on Thursday or Friday This week.   Have a great day and we'll see you in class tomorrow.

May 2009
We will be closing for the Memorial Day Weekend.  There will be no classes on Saturday, May 23rd or Monday, May 25th.
Have a Happy and Safe weekend!!  We return to class on Tuesday, May 26th with the new schedule in effect.  Be sure to grab a copy of the new schedule by the front desk this week.  Next week also kicks off our kids summer uniform.  When the kids come to class they can wear an FMMA T-Shirt instead of their Gi top.  Uniform pants and belts are still required.   The kids testing is on Thursday, May 28th.  Kids Graduation is on Friday, May 29th.  For testing and Graduation all kids must be in their Gi top, NOT the T-Shirts.  Teen and Adult testing will also be held on Friday, May 29th.

April 2009
We have our Parents Night Out party this Saturday, April 25th.  The party is going to begin at 4:00 pm and go until 7:00 pm. Permission slips for your child and their buddies may be picked up at the front desk.
Congratulations to Ravi Patel for earning his 1st degree Black Belt last weekend.  He has been training very hard for the past several months and his hard work really paid off!  Great Job Ravi!!

The Long Island Pride BJJ tournament was this past Sunday.  We had 3 competitors from the team go out and they did very well.  
Mr. Colon took 1st place and Fanelli took 2nd place in their Masters Purple belt  division.  Fanelli went on to fight in the Purple Belt Absolute division and took 3rd place.  Nino from TDMMA went out and took 1st place in the mens white belt division!  Way to represent gentlemen!!

We had a Great weekend of people reaching their goals.  On Friday we had our children's Graduation Ceremony.  It was a packed house and everyone looked GREAT!  Following the kids we had our Teen and Adult Testing on Friday.  The FMMA team spirit was alive and kicking, with about 20 graduates working together to acheive their goals.  Goals we set, are goals we get!  Well done Team!
Saturday afternoon we had our BJJ evaluation with about 40 people earning new stripes or belts.  Congrats goes out to John who earned his Blue Belt!  Great job guys, and we'll see you in class.

Congratulations to our new Black Belts!  Great Job Guys!

the Warrios's Cup V was this weekend.   We had another strong showing from our team.  
Rob came out and controlled the first round.  He started off the second round with the same dominating form, but ended the round early with a beautiful head kick.  Winner by TKO!!
Chris was the final fight of the night.  He came out and Dominated his opponent all 3 rounds!  Winner by unanimous decision!
Great job guys!


MAY 2008
We had Chris Benford go out and compete again this weekend.  This time he fought at the Muay Thai Maddness III Promotion.  He had a tough battle but came out on top in the end.  The fight ended in the third round with Chris Controlling the clinch and stopping his opponent with knees.  I want to thank Corrado and my Thai Coach "Kru" Phil Nurse for helping me in the corner and coaching Chris to his second win!!  Way to go Chris!
